3-Gun Scores At Shooting Industry Masters
More than 200 competitors ran through FNH USA's 3-gun side match during the 2010 Shooting Industry Masters in Grand Island, Neb., recently, raising more than $2,000 for the National Shooting Sports Foundation. With many top executives and industry professionals shooting 3-gun for the first time, by the end of the two-day event one thing was clear--3-gun has arrived.
The annual Shooting Industry Masters is put on by FMG Publications to raise money for NSSF's First Shots program, which introudces new shooters to the shooting sports. A two-day competition where industry executives compete side-by-side with top professional shooters, the event is comprised of stages that highlight multiple disciplines from within the shooting sports, including sporting clays, practical pistol and revolver, long-range rifle, and new to this year's event, FNH USA's 3-gun stage.
In the team competition, Team Hornady won the open division, with 3-gunners Rick Porter, Jeff Cramblit, Adam Popplewell and Kelly Neal, along with Camp Perry rifle legend Carl Bernosky. Smith & Wesson's Jerry Miculek was the top individual shooter in the Open division. In the industry division, which is made up primarily by company employees and other industry professionals, Smith & Wesson took the overall title, while S&W's David McDaniel took the individual honors.
Team FNH USA's Dianna Liedorff took the Ladies Open title, while Freedom Group's Linda Powell won the Industry division. Hornday's Adam Popplewell turned in the best time on the FNH USA 3-gun side match, and S&W's Jerry Miculek won the CCW and long-range matches. Hornady's Greg Poppavich won the Cowboy Action stage. FNH USA's Tasha Hanish was top female on the 3-gun and long range stages.
