Thacker Wins 3GN Pro Series Event 6

Tuesday, June 9, 2015

Armalite’s Tommy Thacker defeated Nate Staskiewicz in the 3GN Shoot-Off finale to win Pro Series Event 6 at the U.S. Shooting Academy in Tulsa recently.

In the finale, Staskiewicz, one of several junior shooters on the 3GN Pro and Lady Pro Series this season, built a commanding lead through the rifle and shotgun portions of the shoot-off. But Thacker, after misses early, stormed back on the pistol array to overtake his former MGM Junior Camp student in exciting fashion at the stop plate.

The win marked Thacker’s first 3GN victory since his run through the 3GN Championship in 2012. For advancing to stage 4, both Thacker, the president of Armalite, and Staskiewicz are headed to the 3GN Championship in October, where the winner will be crowned 3GN Champion and take home $50,000 from Leupold Optics and NRA Sports.

Thacker also joins Armalite teammates Greg Jordan and Rick Birdsall in winning a Pro Series match this season, making it a clean sweep for team shooters this season on the 3GN Pro Series.

Along with the team Armalite shooters and Staskiewicz, the following shooters have qualified for the 3GN Championship: Daniel Horner, Jerry Miculek, Mark Ziebart, Kalani Laker, Nick Atkinson, Josh Wakamatsu, John McClain and Aaron Hayes.

Two more matches remain, and with that four additional slots, before the 3GN Championship ends the 2015 3GN Pro Series this October in Tulsa.
