3-Gun Nation Pro Series Event to Feature Real-Time Scoring
Real-Time, Wireless Scoring To Enhance Shooter and Spectator Experience at Matches
ST. AUGUSTINE, FL—3-Gun Nation recently struck an agreement with the IDS division of SMT, Inc. to integrate a wireless "live-feed" scoring system throughout the first 3GN Pro-Series match held at the Ancient City Shooting Range here March 31. This will be a groundbreaking effort to further enhance the overall presentation of the shooting sports and provide a higher-level of spectator engagement for 3-Gun Nation.
“We couldn't be more excited about this,” said Pete Brown, 3GN President. “IDS is a proven leader in pro sports with clients such as the US Open Tennis, CrossFit Games, Dew Tour, NHL Hockey, NBA, PGA TOUR golf and the UFC. They saw something in us that they wanted to explore, and we want to continue to raise the bar. Our hope is this event sets a precedent for future 3-Gun Nation events moving forward.”
The IDS Data Entry laptops will be networked together, which will feed data into an IDS LED Video Display. This will allow spectators and shooters alike to see who is winning the match in real-time as the event progresses.
“Our events are one division and one-day only.” said Rob Romero, 3-Gun Nation Director of Competition. “As such, we will be able to provide real-time results for spectators on-site in a compact presentation. Our events will have six stages total, with the entire field going heads-up on the final stage to determine the winner. All of our courses of fire will be fast and dynamic for the TV cameras as well as the crowd on-hand.”
At the St. Augustine event, 3-Gun Nation will feature several on-site attractions for the regional public, including a Ruger Rimfire stage, as well as a vendors row to include firearms and accessories for sale from local dealer "Gun Gallery" of Jacksonville.
“The purpose of all of this is to enable intimate access to the leading shooter's scores immediately after they complete courses of fire," said Brown. "You will be able to have access to the shooters scores as they happen. At its core, we believe 3-Gun is the 'X-Games' of the shooting sports. Our mission is to make this fact known.”
