The Final 8 competitors in the 3-Gun Nation Championship Shoot-Off Finale just got another prize—one that should have them dialed in for the showdowns in Las Vegas. FNH USA recently awarded each competitor with an FNS-9, FN’s new striker-fired semi-automatic pistol that will be officially launched, along with the FNS-40, during this year’s SHOT Show.

The FNS-9 features a high grip and a low bore axis, which enables users to better withstand the forces of recoil—meaning faster follow-on shots. Ambidextrous thumb safety and operating controls make the FNS pistols user friendly, while a modified, deep “V” rear sight delivers a solid sight picture of the three-dot sights.

The FNS’ stainless steel slide is finished in either black or silver. Inside is a four-inch stainless steel barrel and stainless steel, full-length guide rod. An external extractor and loaded chamber indicator complete the package FN calls “the most advanced double-action striker-fired pistol on the market.”

Magazine capacity for the FNS-9 is 17+1, while the FNS-40 is 14+1. However, 10-round models for each pistol are also available.

MGM's Travis Gibson takes on the 3-Gun Nation Shoot-Off at MGM Ironman using the new FNH USA FNS-40.

Tommy Thacker, Phil Strader, Jeff Cramblit, Rustin Bernskoetter, Taran Butler, Mike Voigt, Tyler Payne and Mark Hanish will square off in a single-elimination Shoot-Off bracket at the Clark County Range in Las Vegas Jan. 18. The winner will be crowned 3-Gun Nation Champion, with a cash prize of $50,000 from Leupold Tactical Optics and NBC Sports.

To win, these competitors will have to master the FNS-9, which is the only pistol that will be used in the 3GN Championship Shoot-Off Finale. The 3GN Shoot-Off requires shooters to compete with sponsor-provided equipment, leveling the playing field for all. Along with the Stag Arms 3G, FN SLP and FN SCAR 16, the FNS-9 makes up the final leg of the 3GN Shoot-Off, where the final stop plate is engaged, meaning every run will be won or lost with the FNS-9 in hand.
