Kelley's father introduced him to shooting at the age of five and continued to coach and train him through the years. Kelley officially entered into his first organized shooting competition in 1987 at the International Handgun Metallic Silhouette (IHMSA) in Colville, WA. While participating in IHMSA competitions, Kelley was introduced to the 3-Gun arena and soon became the top shooter in the Heavy Metal Division. After six years as the undefeated champion in the Heavy Metal Division, Kelley is now gunning for the same title in the Tactical Optics Division. Most recently, Kelley has won the 2010 Superstition Mountain Mystery 3-Gun as well as the 2010 Rocky Mountain 3-Gun in the Heavy Metal Division. Shooting his customized Benelli M2, Kelley is a top competitor in 3-Gun competitions and doesn't plan to ever hand over the title he has claimed and held for so long.
